Randi & David’s Fall Wedding – Hickory North Carolina Wedding Photographer
Randi and David are an extremely sweet couple and certainly meant for each other! They gathered with their friends and family to marry in Catawba, NC with a reception following at Shufford Gardens in Hickory, NC. I had such a good time with them and their wedding party. They jump, ran, got into freezing cold water, and kept me laughing all day! I wish these two the very best in their marraige and Randi and David thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day, I truly had a blast!

Historic Brattonsville Bridal Portrait
This past Saturday Lea and Chris were married on beautiful Lake Lure….I am so excited to finally reveal Lea’s bridal session! We decided to visit historic Brattonsville (where the Patriot was filmed!) to do her session. We could not have picked a more perfect setting to do her shoot! A beautiful plantation, fields, and Lea in her gorgeous gown…simply stunning! Onto the images

Shufford Gardens Wedding Party of the Year!!!
Today’s wedding was so much fun. I have so much to say about this wedding that I simply cant say it all in this post. From the families, to the amazing wedding party, to the beautiful church and reception venue, to the weather, to the love between the couple…simply put, it was great!!! What I will show off is the wedding party in all their glory. They were so willing to do whatever and indulged me when they said they wanted to get into the fountain for some fun shots. The water was freezing but they were all troopers and thus my favorite image of the day is created! What you dont see in this image though is the father of the groom. Later on he decided to canon ball into the fountain, it was freakin awesome…that will come later, I promise!

Elizabeth & David… Pigs=Good Luck!!!
Sweet, funny, and charming…and that just describes David! Spending the afternoon with David and Elizabeth was a complete blast. They are truly one of those couples meant for each other and being able to watch them together just made me all mushy inside! Elizabeth is such a caring individual and has always been there to talk to, it’s not hard to love this girl! David is as handsome and charming as they come and even surprised Elizabeth with a red rose just for their engagement session…I thought that was extremely thoughtful and of course we had to include the rose in a few shots! We had a great time roaming around town being rockstars, and despite a brief rain shower, the affection between these two just kept overflorwing! I am very much looking forward to their wedding day…it’s going to be amazing, beautiful, and a whole lotta fun!
Oh, and if you’re wondering about the Pigs=Good Luck headline. Well I didn’t know it, but while roaming around town Elizabeth and I found a little pig toy just sitting on one of the windows that we photographed in front of! She told me that pigs stand for good luck, so of course we had to take a pic of that too. It’s amazing what funny and interesting things I found out at engagement sessions!

Family Fun in Taylorsville!
Spending the entire day with three different families was a special treat. Not only was I welcomed into the family, but I also got to know a little bit more about one of my best friends…Miss Kendall! Im sure you remember Kendall from both her bridal portrait sessions and her wedding day that was posted here on the blog previously! She is incredibly sweet and it was not hard to see where she gets it from since the rest of her family was just as generous and fun to be around! Not only did I get to photograph at where Kendall grew up, but I also had the chance to venture into their pasture which was more than 26 acres of land where their horses roam, a beautiful valley with a creek and embedded rocks and greenery everywhere, fields upon fields of wildflowers and tall grass, and of course I got to go into the woods and photograph as well!!! Besides the two ticks I found on me and all the chiggers and gnats that we were battling the entire day, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat and can’t wait to go back and see Kendall’s family again! Thank you so much Kendall and your entire family for letting me spend a day with you all….you’re absolutely great!

Yankees vs. Tigers…Why Not Love Both!?! (Gaffney South Carolina Wedding Photography)
From the moment I met Lea we instantly hit it off! She is such a sweet southern belle to the fullest and has one of the warmest and most sincere personalities I’ve ever known. Being around her you can’t help to feel humble about everything and truly enjoy the moment! At the consultation we of course spoke about her other half and she mentioned that he is a true New Yorker. We both have a thing for men with northern accents and dark skin and when she told me how much she doesn’t like the Yankees and he doesn’t like the Clemson Tigers, yeah, I knew we were going to have some fun giving each other a hard time about that during the engagement session. Well, I was certainly not let down…Lea and Chris even surprised me with bringing their Yankee and Clemson jerseys requesting to do something fun…you betcha we did (Check out the last few pics, that’s only a small preview of what these two were willing to do)! Anyhow, I could gush about these two forever. I truly had a blast hanging out with them in what I’ll call “Little Charleston” and getting to see how in love these two are…I can’t wait for Lea’s bridal portraits and to be a part of their big day!!! It’s going to be a blast!

Meet the Honeycutts!!! (Shelby North Carolina Portrait Photographer)
There is only one word to describe how I met the Honeycutts…FATE! Over the past several years I have been working at a local newspaper and absolutely love it! Last year I was introduced to a lady by the name of Marie Honeycutt that one of the reporters was writing an article about. She is a very talented writer of poems and her family generously helped to publish her poems into a book! I had the privelage of meeting Marie and her family for an informal family setting at their home. Wouldn’t you know that by fate I already knew the Honeycutts, I just didn’t know it until Marie’s husband, Don, made it clear how well we knew each other! Don use to work with my grandfather and the Honeycutts also attend the same church as my family. I never knew that, but Im so glad that I do now! We had a great time bonding over families memories and church friends that day and I went back to the newspaper very proud of the images I had captured of Marie and her family. Well as luck would have it I recieved a phonecall from Marie several weeks ago with her asking me to take images of her family to celebrate her and Don’s 50th wedding anniversary. I very happily agreed to do so and once again had such a great time spending time with the Honeycutts. They are such a happy family and so easy to photograph with their chipper smiles and bubbly personalities…and I love that they all color coordinated their wardrobe without me even having to ask…awww I love clients that surprise me in a great way like that! Marie wanted to do some “formal” family pictures in a natural setting so we chose one of the local parks for their family portraits. I hope you enjoy the images and look forward to working with this family again. Congratulations Marie and Don on a wonderful 50 years of marraige and creating such a beautiful family!
